Narayanganj Photographic Club (NPC) is all set for the 2nd Edition of their Annual Pictorial Exhibition “Because I was There”. To celebrate this grand platform of photography, BIWT – 2 is going international, in association with FOTOJAJS, expanding its arena to the neighboring country India, where the art of photography is embraced with the same enthusiasm. The upcoming Photography Competition – cum – Exhibition will stand an evidence of photography binding humanity, beyond borders.

Submission Time: 22 February - 15 March 2018

Theme:

This is an open theme exhibition. Pictures of all genres are eligible (except nudity). NPC seeks a broad range of photographs, taken by both established and emerging photographers, in its open call for the juried competition – cum – exhibition.

Eligibility:

NPC invites all Bangladeshi and Indian Photographers to submit their unpublished photos.
NPC and FOTOJAJS Team members are also eligible for the exhibition but not for participating in competition.

Term and conditions:

Exhibition begins on 17th April, 2018 and ends on 21st April, 2018. All digital entries must be received through the email: npc.biwt2.bd@gmail.com for Bangladeshi photographers and npc.biwt2.in@gmail.com for Indian photographers received by our Indian associate FOTOJAJS.
Names of the selected photographers will be announced after judgment procedure. Names of selected photographers will be published on a particular date announced after the closure of submission. The selected participants will also be informed by email or phone. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to this contest’s rules and warrants that the entry is his/her own work. All decisions by NPC will remain final.

NB: Photographs that have been awarded before in any competition / exhibition are not allowed. 
We strictly discourage previous exhibited pictures.

Single Entry Submission:

1. Entrants may submit up to 6 photos.
   2. The subject of the e-mail must be: Submission for Because I Was There – 2.
   3. Entries must accompany the entrant’s name, phone number, email address and T-Shirt size in email body.
   4. Each submitted photograph should be renamed with your Full name_Photo Sequence_Phone number with country code_Email ID. Example- your name_1_0091xxxxxxxx_your email@xxxx.com
   5. Borders, Watermarks, Signature, Logo are strictly prohibited.
   6. We do not take the responsibility of ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
   7. Decisions by the judges are final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
   8. The images can be Color or B&W, must be at least 300 dpi in resolutions, in JPEG format, with a maximum file size of 8 MB.
   9. The copyright will remain with the photographer and the photos will not be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever without the consent of the photographer. But NPC may use the submitted images for the exhibition's promotional purposes.
   10. Selected photographs at the exhibition will be offered for sale. NPC will retain 40% of the sale price as commission.
   11. NPC reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of the competition at any point of time.

Photo Story Submission:

1. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 Photo Stories.
   2. Each story must consist of a minimum of 5 photos and a maximum of 9 photos.
   3. Photo Story category is under no medium. The entrant must mention clearly the medium used in the body of the mail carrying the entry.
   4. All photographs of the Photo Story must be zipped in a single file.
   5. File Size of the Zip folder must not exceed 20 MB for each story.
   6. In case of submitting more than one story, the entrant must send each story in a separate mail conforming to all the rules.
   7. Participants should provide the serial number of the photos to illustrate how they want their story to be arranged. Example (1.JPEG, 2.JPEG).
   8. The story must have an overall description and may be accompanied by captions for each photo.
   9. The write up for each photo story must not exceed 300 words.
   10. Participant must encrypt a doc file consisting of write up and captions (if any) in the zip file. 
   11. Each submitted photo story must be named with your Full name _Photo Story_Title of the story_ Mobile No_ Email-ID. Example: Your name_photo story_title of the story_0091xxxxxxxx_your email@xxxx.com)

Registration Fee:

For Bangladeshi photographers:
There is no Entry Fee for submission but each selected Photographer has to pay BDT 1250 per photo for single entry and for story BDT 2500 per story as registration fee by 30th March, 2018. Without registration fee, your picture will not be eligible for exhibition.

For Indian photographers:
There is no Entry Fee for submission but each selected Photographer has to pay INR 1000 per photo for single entry and for story INR 2000 per story as registration fees by 30th March, 2018. Without registration fee, your picture will not be eligible for exhibition.

FAQ:

Q: What types of pictures should I submit?
A: This is an open theme exhibition. You can submit any type of photos such as portrait, landscape, lifestyle, wildlife, macro etc. (both color and B/W are allowed). But pictures should represent Bangladesh and India positively.

Q: How can I deposit registration fee?
A: you have to pay entry fee if your photo get selected. You have to pay the amount mentioned under the heading Registration Fee. NPC (Bangladesh) and FOTOJAJS (India) will intimate you if your photo / story is selected and will collect the fee thereafter.
